Curriculum vitae

Research training across genomics, clinical cohorts and network methods

Doctoral assistant in multi-omics integration at EPFL, with a background in life sciences engineering and biomedical technologies spanning oncology, neurodegeneration and rare disease.

Experience

  1. Apr 2023 — present

    Doctoral student — EPFL, Lausanne

Developing multi-omics approaches to improve the molecular diagnosis of rare diseases and extreme paediatric phenotypes within the SwissPedHealth Lighthouse Project. Integrating genomics with downstream molecular layers to uncover the functional consequences of genetic variation and strengthen causal variant prioritisation.

  2. Mar 2022 — Mar 2023

Master's thesis — Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Harvard Medical School, Boston MA

Ligon Lab / Center for Patient Derived Models. Optimising an ex vivo drug sensitivity testing platform for solid tumours.

  3. Aug 2021 — Feb 2022

Operational Excellence (OPEX) intern — Medtronic, Tolochenaz

Process and operational excellence work in a medical device manufacturing setting.

  4. Feb 2021 — Jul 2021

Semester project — Brisken Lab, ISREC, EPFL

Disentangling hormone receptor signalling in breast cancer.

  5. Sep 2020 — Feb 2021

Semester project — Lashuel Lab, Brain Mind Institute, EPFL

Data-driven analysis of the genetics and molecular mechanisms of Parkinson's disease: large transcriptomic datasets, differential expression and enrichment analysis, protein–protein interaction networks. Highlighted a previously unreported protein of potential importance in the disease.

  6. Sep 2020 — Feb 2021

Semester project — Laboratory of Behavioral Genetics, Brain Mind Institute, EPFL

Machine learning techniques for stress detection from physiological signals (ECG, EDA), comparing computational models for detecting stress and its anticipation.

  7. Aug 2018 — Sep 2018

Research intern — Ludwig Center for Cancer Research, Department of Oncology, Lausanne

Electroporation for dendritic cell vaccines: genetic modification of monocyte-derived dendritic cells under sterile conditions, blood handling and immune cell isolation.
